One of Shakespeare’s earliest plays that focuses on the exploits of four handsome men and four beautiful ladies. The King and his three courtiers pledge themselves to a life of study swearing to leave the company of women and worldly pleasures in order that due diligence be given to study and contemplation. When the pledge is made, the Princess of France and her three ladies-in-waiting arrive at the King’s court. They present a difficult task to the men. Will they keep their oath and serious pledge? Or succumb to the attractions of four beautiful ladies?
