In the summer of 1959, Danny Zuko and new girl Sandy Dumbrowski share a sweet holiday romance, parting ways believing they will never meet again. When Sandy unexpectedly enrols at Rydell High, their reunion is anything but simple. Determined to maintain his reputation with the Burger Palace Boys, Danny downplays his feelings, while Sandy tries to find her place among the Pink Ladies. As friendships, rivalries, and teenage dreams collide, the students of Rydell High navigate love, identity, and growing up.
