Imogen the daughter of Cymbeline king of Britain is happily wedded to Posthumus against her father's approval. Exiled by the king, Posthumus finds himself in Rome enticed then by a shadowy impresario to place a bet on Imogen's ability to remain faithful. The bet is one he will ultimately regret in this powerful dramatic play.
