Maktub - It is written.

History of Maktub Maktub was founded by actor Wale Show in November 2017. From 8 weeks from idea to production, with no experience or funding. Brit Ain’t Right was created and ended up being a massive success with all three shows being sell outs at the Courtyard Theatre. The high ratings, reviews and high demand for the show paved the way for ‘Brit Ain’t Right 2’ that was put on again in March 2018 at the Katzspace theatre, which was another huge success for all involved.

From the shows Maktub then evolved to the Actors Gym, a weekly intensive 3hour workshop to develop multiple aspects of an actors craft. Wale Show saw the need for affordable workshops for actors, from all backgrounds and all levels, where they can constantly work on their acting skills and be prepared for all opportunities that come their way. Maktub now have evolved from Actor’s Gym and now have weekly open Acting classes called HabitAct

Maktub Theatre Company In August 2019 came the birth of Maktub Theatre Company (rep) came from the idea of having a set number of actors who would train 9-5 twice a week and work towards a goal as a company and as individual actors. The company has a mixture of multi-talented actors from diverse backgrounds where they all share the common goal of being a successful actor. Maktub Theatre Company has been a place where ‘it’s more than just acting’ it’s training the mind, body and soul to become a disciplined and successful actor. A process of transformation has happened in each actor as they have studied and learned how to grow as an actor and develop the skills they have.
