Chelsea Garden Prints: Denise Ballard-Wyllie
Painter-printmaker Denise Ballard-Wyllie lives and works In London and Bristol. Her solo art exhibition at the historic St Bride’s Foundation, off Fleet Street, reveals a rich body of artwork including lithographs, screen-prints, wood engraving and digital archive prints inspired by an art residency at Chelsea Physic Garden, which celebrated its centenary last year. The residency allowed her time to draw observing the garden as it changed throughout the seasons.
A number of coveted limited-edition Ballard-Wyllie miniatures will also be on show and available for purchase. Attendees can relish the unique interiors of the Grade II-listed building, with its historic connection with the UK’s print and graphics industry. This is a fitting venue for Ballard-Wyllie's timeless work that incorporates both traditional and contemporary printmaking processes. You will also will be in good company here, as it is a favourite haunt of members of The Royal Society of Painter Printmakers (RE) and The Society of Wood Engravers SWE.
Denise Ballard-Wyllie ARE exhibits independently and with artists groups including the RE- the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, The PMC- The Printmakers Council, Manifestampe, France, and from 1992-2018 Art-Contact, Karelia, Russia. Her original prints are held in 14 Art Museum Collections.
