Tartuffe

Written by: Molière
Adapted by: Simon Gray
Directed by: Tony Graham
Presented by: East 15 Acting School's MFA Acting (International) Graduates

Tartuffe, the holy man, has swept into Orgon’s wealthy Parisian home seeking power, money and sex beneath the guise of piety and religion. Orgon’s household is thrown into disarray. With Orgon under his charismatic spell, there is no stopping Tartuffe. Orgon’s daughter, then his wife, and, ultimately, Orgon himself are at risk of losing everything.

From a world dripping in gold and corruption, that of the Sun King Louis XIV, to the sleaze-ridden hypocrisies of our own ruling classes, Tartuffe is a timeless and intensely accurate observation of human folly that speaks as loudly now as in the 17th-century.
